Adult ADHD evaluation · Telepsychiatry in Virginia and Florida

Adult ADHD evaluation, done properly, in one flat fee.

You have probably been told you are disorganized, or that you cannot possibly have ADHD because you finished school. A real evaluation takes more than twenty minutes. Welmivia's ADHD pathway is a physician-led diagnostic interview, validated rating scales, baseline labs, and a written report you keep.

$1,250 all inclusive No insurance billing. HSA and FSA accepted One physician, start to finish

Welmivia treats adults located in Virginia and Florida only. You will be asked to confirm your state before a deposit link is sent. Telepsychiatry only, from Charlottesville, Richmond, McLean, Great Falls and across Northern Virginia, and statewide in Florida including Miami, Tampa and Orlando.

What adults notice

Why people search for this at 3 a.m.

Adult ADHD rarely looks like a child bouncing off the walls. It looks like a competent person spending enormous effort to produce ordinary output. If several of these have been true since childhood, an evaluation is reasonable.

You cannot start the task until the deadline makes it an emergency.

You reread the same paragraph three times and retain none of it.

Your systems work for two weeks, then collapse, and you build new ones.

You were the bright kid who never worked to potential, and it never resolved.

Anxiety and low mood have been treated, and the attention problem stayed.

You interrupt, or you finish sentences, and you notice afterward.

Time is invisible to you. Fifteen minutes and two hours feel similar.

You already take a stimulant that was started quickly and never revisited.

The pathway

What the $1,250 covers

Three visits, one price, quoted before you book. Includes baseline labs. Any additional screening required before prescribing is included. There are no add-on fees and no per-visit billing inside the package.

Visit one

Precision evaluation

Your history and prior records are read before the visit begins. Screening is completed with the ASRS-v1.1 and the Wender Utah Rating Scale, and the differential is worked through: sleep, thyroid, anxiety, mood, substance use.

90 minutes

Visit two

DIVA-5 diagnostic interview

A dedicated visit for the DIVA-5, the structured interview used to confirm adult ADHD against diagnostic criteria in childhood and adulthood. Baseline labs and a documented blood pressure and heart rate reading are reviewed here.

60 minutes, dedicated

Visit three

Treatment and written report

Medication started or adjusted where indicated, with response and side effects reviewed against your baseline. You receive a written Blueprint report: findings, scores, formulation and the plan in writing.

30 minutes · report included

Stimulants are prescribed when they are indicated. That decision follows the DIVA-5 interview and documented baseline cardiac risk, not a checkbox at intake. Controlled substances require a new prescription each month and cannot be refilled, and pharmacogenomic testing is available when metabolism is the open question.

Beyond the prescription

The rest of what moves attention

Stimulants do the most measurable work in ADHD. They are not the only variable, and they work better when the inputs underneath them are corrected. Your Blueprint report includes the non-pharmacologic layer written for your findings and your labs, not a generic handout.

Nutrition and metabolic inputs

Read off your baseline labs

Ferritin and iron, vitamin D, B12 and folate, thyroid, glucose and A1c. Protein at breakfast, caffeine timing against your dose, and the meal pattern that keeps the afternoon from collapsing. Deficiencies that blunt attention are corrected before the dose is escalated.

Targeted supplementation

Named, dosed, time-limited

Where labs or symptoms support it: omega-3 with a defined EPA to DHA ratio, magnesium glycinate or threonate, iron repletion, methylated B vitamins, L-theanine. Form, dose and duration are specified, and interactions with your stimulant are checked before you start.

Neuro-optimization

Sleep, load, light, structure

A fixed wake time and a sleep window that fits your chronotype, zone 2 exercise for baseline dopaminergic tone, morning light exposure, and external structure built to survive a bad week. Reassessed at follow-up against your own scores, not a population average.

Fullscript

The ADHD supplement protocol

Supplements in your Blueprint are dispensed through Fullscript: practitioner-grade products, third-party tested, with the form and dose already selected. What you actually take is decided at your visit.

Open the ADHD protocol

Supplements are adjunctive. They do not diagnose ADHD, they do not replace treatment, and nothing here is a promise of a specific result. Products purchased through the dispensary are dispensed by Fullscript, not by Welmivia.

01

Request the dates and times that work for you using the scheduler below.

02

Welmivia reaches out to confirm your state and a specific time, then sends a $250 deposit link. The hold lasts 24 hours.

03

Deposit paid, appointment confirmed, and your questionnaires are sent to complete before the visit.

Times shown in Eastern time. You must be located in Virginia or Florida at the time of your visit. Requesting a time does not confirm the appointment.

If nothing on the calendar works, or you are not sure which visit to request, call the practice at 434-623-0003 or email admin@welmivia.com and a time will be offered within one business day. New patients do not have portal access until an invitation is sent after the first appointment is confirmed.

The through-line

An ADHD diagnosis is a clinical judgment about your whole history. It cannot be made by a questionnaire, and it should not be made by a stranger in twenty minutes.

An honest comparison

Why this costs more than an app

App-based ADHD services

The pattern

Algorithmic intake. A form decides the diagnosis and a clinician signs it.

A 20 to 30 minute visit, often with a different clinician each time.

No structured diagnostic interview, so nothing is documented to defend the diagnosis later.

Comorbid sleep, thyroid, anxiety and substance factors go unexamined.

A monthly subscription that ends when prescribing gets complicated.

Welmivia

The pathway

One physician, Dr. Diaz, for every visit and every prescription.

150 minutes of physician time across the diagnostic pathway.

DIVA-5 structured interview, scored and documented in your chart.

Baseline labs, vitals and the differential worked through before prescribing.

A written report you keep, valid with employers, schools and future physicians.

Dr. Diaz, Welmivia Medical

Who you will see

Dr. Diaz

I have ADHD. Testing as a child flagged it and no one pursued a diagnosis, because I was doing well in school. My accommodation was gifted classes. That held until medical school, where the volume of tasks and responsibility outran every workaround I had built, and by then I had the training to recognize what I was looking at.

That is why this pathway is built the way it is. Adults living with undiagnosed ADHD are handed years of contradictory explanations, and a rushed evaluation adds another one. The process here is transparent and clinically validated, documented well enough that the diagnosis stays with you: with a new physician, with an employer, with a school. I also see patients who were diagnosed once, quickly, and need that work done properly a second time.

Every visit is with me. I read your records before we meet, I score the instruments myself, and I write the report. A structured, thorough evaluation with an experienced physician who is invested in the outcome.

What that means practically: you will not spend the first ten minutes convincing me a person can be capable and still unable to start.

Payment

How you pay for the evaluation

Direct pay, no insurance billed

The $1,250 package fee is charged through Stripe. A $250 deposit holds your first visit, and the balance is due before visit one unless you use the split schedule. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and a superbill is provided on request for out-of-network reimbursement.

Baseline labs are billed by the lab, supplements in your Blueprint are billed by Fullscript, and pharmacogenomic testing, if you elect it, is billed by BrightKare. Those are not part of the package fee.

Financing at checkout

If paying the full fee at once does not work, the package can be split at checkout. Pay in four with Afterpay, or spread payments over six to eighteen months with Affirm. Approval and terms are set by the provider, not by Welmivia. The internal split schedule of $250, $500, $300 and $200 across the three visits remains available with no application.

Questions patients ask

Before you book

How do I get tested for ADHD as an adult?

There is no blood test or scan for ADHD. The diagnosis is made by clinical interview against criteria that must be present since childhood. Here that means the ASRS-v1.1 and the Wender Utah Rating Scale for screening, then a dedicated 60-minute DIVA-5 structured interview, with baseline labs and a documented blood pressure and heart rate reading. Neuropsychological testing is not required for most adults.

Can ADHD really be diagnosed over telehealth?

Yes. The instruments and the history are the diagnosis, and both work by video. Welmivia is telepsychiatry only and licensed in Virginia and Florida. You need to be physically located in one of those states for your visits.

Will I be prescribed Adderall or another stimulant?

Stimulants are prescribed when they are indicated. That is decided after the DIVA-5 confirms the diagnosis and baseline cardiac risk is documented, not before. Non-stimulant options are discussed when they are the better fit. Controlled substances require a new prescription every month and cannot be refilled, sent electronically each time.

Is a drug screen required, and does cannabis disqualify me?

A screen is required before the evaluation and its cost is included in the fee. Cannabis laws vary by state and a positive THC result is not disqualifying. It is evaluated case by case, as part of the clinical picture, because cannabis affects attention, sleep and anxiety and that matters for interpreting your symptoms.

How much does an ADHD evaluation cost without insurance?

$1,250 for new patients, with a $250 deposit applied to the fee. Adding a hormonal workup brings the total to $1,500. Welmivia does not bill insurance. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and a superbill can be provided for out-of-network submission.

How long until I have an answer?

Most patients complete all three visits within a few weeks, limited mainly by lab turnaround and your own scheduling. Booking requests are answered within one business day.

I was diagnosed years ago. Do I have to start over?

Bring your records and they are read before your first visit. The structured interview is still completed, because prescribing needs to rest on documented criteria rather than on a note you no longer have. Most patients who arrive already on medication are looking for dose optimization, side effect management, or an explanation for why the response was partial. Continuing medication management on a prior diagnosis requires that the diagnosis be validated. If the records are not adequate to support it, the complete evaluation with Welmivia is required before prescribing.

What if it turns out not to be ADHD?

That is a useful result, and it happens. Untreated sleep apnea, thyroid disease, anxiety, depression, iron deficiency and heavy substance use all produce attention problems. You still receive the written formulation and a plan for what is actually driving the symptoms.
